Vector-Borne Diseases

Vectors are smal organisms such as mosquitos, ticks, and sandflies. The diseases that are spread by vectors kill a million people every year, making more than half of the world's population at risk. Examples of some diseases transmitted by these vectors are malaria, dengue, west nile virus and chikungunya among others.
